Vauxhall and Global EV charging company, JOLT, are launching a pioneering initiative offering free EV charging to all Vauxhall electric vehicle drivers in London from 3rd February to 2nd March 2025. The partnership offers free charging at over 40 JOLT EV units in London for Vauxhall electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle owners.

Strategically placed in urban centres, JOLT’s charging units are designed to boost EV adoption, support local economies, and reduce emissions—benefiting both drivers and the wider community. The campaign, promoting the launch of Vauxhall’s Grandland EV, highlights the benefits of accessible, free charging while showcasing Vauxhall’s latest electric model.

In London, where 60% of households lack driveways, this partnership highlights the ongoing need for affordable access to charging. Each JOLT unit already provides all EV drivers with up to 7 kilowatt-hours of free daily charging—enough for most urban commutes—along with affordable rates for additional charging and supporting London’s commitment to clean, green transport.

“This collaboration is just the beginning. This campaign not only provides affordable and sustainable charging solutions, but also integrates high-impact advertising to drive positive change,” said John Rainford, UK Country Manager at JOLT.

“Public-private partnerships like this are key to overcoming the challenges of climate change and improving air quality. With the right policies and infrastructure, councils can create equitable access to sustainable transport, making electric driving an achievable reality for all. We’re empowering communities, boosting local economies, generating revenue for local authorities, and offering valuable support to local businesses and charities. Together with Vauxhall, we’re proving that innovation and collaboration can accelerate the UK’s transition to a cleaner, greener future.”

James Taylor, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “Access to on-street charging continues to be a hot topic to ensure the UK can continue along its electrification journey. In partnership with JOLT, Vauxhall is continuing to support electric vehicle drivers, offering free charging for any Vauxhall electric vehicle customer visiting a JOLT unit. We’re committed to electrifying Britain and look forward to seeing even more innovative on-street charging solutions for drivers to make their day-to-day journeys.”

JOLT’s innovative business model combines charging units with digital advertising screens featuring high-efficient infrastructure which allows ad revenue to subsidise free daily charging, providing councils with a substantial long-term revenue stream, and supports the expansion of the UK’s EV infrastructure.

Since launching in the UK, JOLT has powered over 6.3 million miles of clean energy for EV drivers, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and collaboration with local authorities. JOLT is eager to further expand its partnerships with councils to address EV infrastructure gaps, particularly in underserved areas. Through commercially viable solutions, councils can accelerate EV adoption, reduce transport emissions—currently responsible for 25% of the UK’s total—and improve air quality.
