JOLT recognised with seven nominations, wins EV Startup of the Year and Best New Services at the 2024 Electric Vehicle Innovation and Excellence Awards (EVIEs)
JOLT, a leader in innovative electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, has been named EV Startup of the Year at the 2024 Electric Vehicle Innovation and Excellence Awards (EVIEs).
The company also won Best New Services (C&I & Public), highlighting its contribution to the development of EV infrastructure in the UK. Additionally, JOLT was highly commended in the Special Recognition – Company category, nominated by the London Borough of Barnet in recognition of its success in delivering affordable, accessible and innovative EV charging solutions in the borough and contribution to the local community.
JOLT’s award success at the EVIEs comes at a pivotal time for the UK’s transition to electric vehicles. As the country approaches its 2035 deadline to phase out new petrol and diesel car sales, affordability and accessibility remain key challenges. Transport emissions account for 26% of the UK’s greenhouse gases, making EV adoption a critical component of the government’s climate strategy. Studies suggest that increased EV use could reduce hospital admissions linked to air pollution, but success will depend on the development of inclusive, innovative solutions.
John Rainford, UK Country Manager at JOLT, said: “Winning these awards and being shortlisted in seven categories at the EVIEs is an incredible honour for JOLT. It’s a testament to the hard work and innovation of our entire team. We’re committed to making electric vehicle charging more accessible, affordable, and sustainable, and to have that work recognised by industry peers is extremely rewarding. It reinforces that we’re on the right track and inspires us to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the EV infrastructure space.”
JOLT’s digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising model funds free and affordable EV charging, generating a sustainable revenue stream that also supports local councils. Rainford described this as a “win-win solution” for urban communities and the environment. “We’re incredibly proud of the model we’ve built at JOLT,”
Rainford added. “This award success at the EVIEs is an opportunity to showcase the tangible benefits we’re delivering and raise awareness of our unique and innovative approach. By expanding our infrastructure, we aim to support even more drivers and cities across the UK.”
