JOLT, Australia’s leading free, fast-charging network, has today announced the launch of AutoCharge – an innovative new feature that enables automatic EV charging exclusively for JOLT Plus members.
In a major leap forward for JOLT’s mission to provide seamless EV charging, AutoCharge allows JOLT Plus drivers to simply plug their EV into a JOLT station and charge, with charging sessions beginning instantly.
Once activated in the JOLT app, a driver’s vehicle is securely recognised by the network. From that moment on, every compatible JOLT charger will begin charging automatically when the vehicle is plugged in.
JOLT CEO, Doug McNamee, said: “AutoCharge is simplicity, engineered. It’s about making the EV experience invisible, where drivers can just plug in and get on with their day.
“For most EV drivers, starting a charging session requires a series of manual steps — opening an app, selecting a charger and pressing ‘start’; AutoCharge removes all that friction for a true ‘plug and go’ charging experience. For our JOLT Plus customers, it’s another reason to love driving electric.”
JOLT Head of Digital Product, Amelia Healy, said: “We wanted to make AutoCharge as intuitive and secure as possible. From a user experience perspective, it’s a step change for charging on the JOLT network for our customers.”
AutoCharge is now available for JOLT Plus Australia and New Zealand subscribers.
The technology is set to be rolled out to other global markets, including New Zealand, the UK and Canada, in the coming months.
JOLT Plus subscribers pay a monthly fee to access exclusive charging benefits, including reservations, time-of-day discount pricing and access to special features like AutoCharge.
The AutoCharge innovation comes as JOLT continues to expand its global network of free*, fast EV chargers, helping accelerate EV adoption and reduce urban emissions — one frictionless charge at a time.
