The cost of driving electric has long been clouded by misunderstanding and misinformation. To cut through the confusion and provide a full, unbiased picture of EV ownership, we partnered with Electric Vehicles UK (EVUK) to sponsor the Cost of Driving Electric (CODE) Report<\/strong>\u2014a landmark study offering the clearest view of EV affordability in Britain, giving drivers the clarity they need to make informed decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our mission\u2014to eliminate financial barriers and accelerate Britain\u2019s transition to clean transport\u2014aligns with EVUK\u2019s commitment to empowering drivers with reliable data. The CODE Report reveals that over 80% of UK drivers could save money<\/strong> by going electric, with the average EV driver saving \u00a35,850<\/strong> over their vehicle\u2019s lifetime when factoring in purchase price, maintenance, taxation, and depreciation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the report highlights a critical challenge: drivers without home charging face significantly higher costs. While those with home chargers enjoy lower overnight tariffs, drivers relying on public infrastructure often pay a premium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At JOLT, we believe cost should never be a barrier to driving an EV. Through our unique advertising-funded approach, we provide 7kWh of free charging daily<\/strong>\u2014enough for around 30 miles of driving\u2014before switching to the UK\u2019s lowest public DC rate of just 35p\/kWh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
