Adelaide has the most fast chargers per-capita compared to all other metro cities in Australia.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3, August 2021: ADELAIDE – <\/strong>JOLT<\/a>, Australia\u2019s first free electric vehicle charging network, has today completed the installation of its 16th<\/sup> electric vehicle fast-charging station in Adelaide. This is part of a program of 21 fast charge networks which is doing in partnership with metro Adelaide councils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The JOLT Adelaide network was first launched in January 2021, in partnership with numerous local councils including the City of Charles Sturt, City of Port Adelaide Enfield, Marion City Council and Campbelltown City Council. Each on-street charging station will support both CCS and CHAdeMO plug types, and users can get 7 kWh for free, which is approx. 15 minutes or 45 kilometres of range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This comes on the eve of the Launch of the Sydney network in partnership with Ausgrid. These sites are under construction and will be available for charging from early of September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JOLT has given out over 55,000 free km through the Adelaide charge network to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With electric vehicle ownership surging in 2021*, there\u2019s never been more of a need for free, fast charging to help Australians move freely. But while sales might be on the rise, there are still barriers stopping some consumers from entering the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re pleased with the progress of the Adelaide network and hope to complete all 21 sites in the coming weeks. The offer of free charging for electric vehicle owners has been very popular and we are energised by driver feedback on the network.\u201d said Doug McNamee, CEO of JOLT. \u201cSouth Australia is a national leader when it comes to Electric Vehicle policy and infrastructure, we are delighted to be a part of that journey.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
