Ausgrid CEO Richard Gross and JOLT CEO Doug McNamee welcomed Minister for Environment and Energy Matt Kean to inspect the prototype for the charging kiosk.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-18-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"JOLT Leading the Charge\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/544359778?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"231\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;I\u2019m excited Ausgrid is part of this vision which is taking existing, essential community infrastructure and giving it new life to provide a free service for electric vehicle users,&#8217; Mr Gross said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;This is the future of energy. With this partnership, we are supporting the electrification of transport by giving our customers and community access to renewable energy choices, making it easier for people to charge their vehicles and using 100 per cent green energy.&#8217;&nbsp;Minister for Energy and Environment Matt Kean said he\u2019s supportive of any initiative to encourage electric car use.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;I have my own electric car and they are great. As we strive to reach Net Zero by 2050, we need to encourage as many people as possible to use them,&#8217; Mr Kean said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/joltcharge.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/04\/Blog-AusGrid-MattKean-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5254\" srcset=\"https:\/\/joltcharge.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/04\/Blog-AusGrid-MattKean-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/joltcharge.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/04\/Blog-AusGrid-MattKean-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/joltcharge.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/04\/Blog-AusGrid-MattKean-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/joltcharge.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/04\/Blog-AusGrid-MattKean.jpg 1400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;The NSW Government is committed to getting more electric vehicles on the road and these free charging stations are a great incentive and a key step in the ongoing transition towards cleaner transport options.&#8217;&nbsp;JOLT CEO Doug McNamee said he hopes to rollout hundreds of charging kiosks across the Ausgrid network.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;We have developed our free fast charge network to solve the major barriers to Electric Vehicle ownership, which are access to charging, cost and range anxiety.
