JOLT, Australia’s first network of fast electric vehicle charging stations and a sustainable digital out-of-home advertising network, today announced the appointment of senior marketer Sharnee Rawson and the promotion of Stuart Moffatt, strengthening its Australian leadership team and operations.

Rawson joins the business in the newly created role of Head of Marketing and Communications Australia and New Zealand, overseeing national marketing strategy, with a focus on growing JOLT’s digital-out-of-home and in-app advertising business.

JOLT’s current General Manager of Network Growth Australia, Stuart Moffatt, has been promoted to the newly created role of Australian Country Manager, overseeing JOLT’s Australian operations, as the business expands.

The changes reflect JOLT’s commitment to its Australian business and advertising partners, bringing deep expertise and resources to its operations, as it continues to navigate its international expansion into the US market, as well as New Zealand, the UK and Canada.

Late last year, JOLT announced its expansion into the United States, following the acquisition of EV chargers from energy operator Shell’s Volta network, delivering thousands of chargers across 64 US cities.

Commenting on the leadership appointments, JOLT CEO, Doug McNamee, said: “This is an exciting time for our business as we continue to expand our global footprint. The strength of our offering is underpinned by the deep expertise of our people; we are committed to ensuring our Australian team has the specialised knowledge and skill sets required to deliver for our clients and support our long-term growth ambitions.

“We’re delighted to welcome Sharnee to the business. She brings deep experience in commercialising platforms and building strategies grounded in creative, innovative and audience-led thinking.

“Sharnee has a strong track record of translating insight into compelling advertising solutions, and her ability to connect creativity with commercial outcomes will be instrumental as we continue to scale our digital-out-of-home and in-app advertising offering.

“Our Australian operations are also set to be strengthened by Stuart’s promotion to Country Manager. Since joining JOLT, Stuart has consistently demonstrated strong commercial leadership and an ability to identify and unlock new opportunities and partnerships. His passion for the business, deep operational knowledge and commitment to growth make him ideally placed to lead our Australian team into its next phase.”

Under her new remit, Rawson will work closely with JOLT’s national sales team to craft JOLT’s go-to-market strategy and advertising brief responses. She will also work with the network growth team to engage councils and landowners, and own the customer-facing marketing strategy for EV charging customers.

Rawson is an experienced media and content leader, bringing 15 years’ experience across commercial, product, go-to-market strategy, content creation, editorial and innovation. She joins JOLT from a seven-year stint at The Guardian where she was Head of Commercial Content, driving creative and content strategy. Prior to this, Rawson also held senior editorial positions at Good Food, delicious, The Courier Mail and Sunday Mail.

Commenting on her appointment, Rawson said:  “I love everything that JOLT represents, from democratising EV ownership and the focus on renewable energy, to the aggressive global expansion of an Aussie brand.

“JOLT is an incredible local success story, and has such a strong value proposition for advertisers and charger users alike – I am very excited to help tell these stories in the market and to be part of the brand’s new chapter.”

Moffatt, who has been part of JOLT since 2023, will now be responsible for managing JOLT’s Australian operations, including the growth of its EV charger and digital out-of-home network across the region.

“I’m thrilled to take on the Country Manager role at such a pivotal moment for JOLT, as we continue to expand our EV charging and digital out-of-home footprint across Australia,” Moffatt said.

“I’ve been inspired by the pace of innovation at JOLT and the opportunity to build something genuinely category-defining. Driven by our Australian team, who are all deeply motivated, highly skilled strategic thinkers and united by a shared passion for the JOLT mission, we’ve already built strong momentum across our network and partnerships.

“This next phase of our growth will continue to deliver powerful outcomes for the environment, communities, our commercial partners and advertisers.”

Last year, JOLT expanded its footprint in New Zealand, rolling out charging stations in Wellington, while also launching into the Canadian and UK markets. JOLT’s operations in the UK were also recognised in the 2024 Electric Vehicle Innovation & Excellence Awards, winning best EV Start-Up of the Year and Best New Services (C&I & Public).

JOLT is set to become the world’s largest combined EV charging and digital out-of-home network, following its recent US expansion plans, meaning thatJOLT can now offer advertisers truly global scale, along with access to data and insights and campaign optimisation from its Spark Intelligence platform, providing contextually relevant, real-world environments.

Both appointments are effective immediately.
